Session attendees:
- Worked in small groups to navigate data sources and computational models about COVID-19
- Reviewed science lessons which use COVID-19 as an example of an instructional framework
The societal issues of the last two years offer a unique opportunity for educators to connect academic work to our societal shared experiences. This session of the TI STEM Exchange presented an instructional framework for STEM education that leverages convergence of multiple STEM subjects, including data science and computer science, to address pressing societal challenges and center on justice-centered solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic offers an unprecedented context to engage all students in societal challenges.
