Effective Practices for Online Teaching With
This two-part virtual workshop provides six hours of professional learning to prepare educators for instructing in an online environment. This workshop supports educators that are using either the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators or TI-Nspire™ technology.
Part 1: Teaching Strategies for Synchronous Online Learning With TI Technology
This live three-hour online session will model best practices for delivering effective instruction in a synchronous online environment. We will cover strategies to encourage engagement and interactivity, including techniques for facilitating discussions and small group work. We will model effective use of TI technology and cover additional resources that are available.
Part 2: Teaching Strategies for the Flipped Classroom/Asynchronous Learning With TI Technology
In this live three-hour online session, participants will explore the benefit of the flipped classroom and how to successfully implement it. In the context of the shift to increased online learning, we will help prepare educators to use this dynamic approach as a key learning tool. TI technology will be modeled with ready-to-use resources, along with lessons that can be modified or created to best achieve instructional goals.
