In the field, or in the classroom, we’ve got you covered!
Science Nspired uses the power of TI-Nspire™ technology to help students learn essential science concepts using a variety of phenomena-based activity types including interactive simulations and hands-on data collection. All activities have been aligned to state and national standards to help you easily integrate into your lesson planning.
If you are looking to increase the use of phenomena as the NGSS outlines, the activities in Science Nspired can help. The simulations provide a process or event (phenomenon) that students can engage with, and manipulate in some way. For more about using science phenomena in your classroom, read more here.
The variety of activities available differ by topic, and are arranged by the following types:
Activity Types |
Data Collection Lab |
Data Collection Labs give students the opportunity to collect and analyze real-world data.
TI-Nspire™ technology is compatible with more than 60 sensors from Vernier Software & Technology. These labs promote exploration of phenomena through step-by-step instructions, a student handout and a TI-Nspire™ Document (.tns).
|
Simulations |
Simulations utilize the dynamic capabilities of TI-Nspire™ technology and help students experience phenomena at scales that are difficult to see, such as molecular interactions — as well as processes hard to represent in static images, such as energy transfer. These lessons include teacher guide, a student handout and a TI-Nspire™ Document (.tns).
|
Assessment |
Assessment files have been provided for each topic and may contain questions that are not covered directly in the activities, but related to the material covered. Opportunities for formative and summative assessment are also embedded throughout each activity. Optional ‘Navigator Tips’ in select activities suggest ways to use the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ System to promote an active, engaging learning environment for students.

Skills of Science |
The activities in this category may apply across more than one subject, providing general knowledge and skills for students to analyze data, interpret graphs, make conversions between units of measurement, and more. Some of these also require the use of Data Collection probes
